Bruce on Premier League survival being achieved

Bruce on PL safety: 'I think we’ve done OK, we’ve done well. I have to say well done to the players and my staff. We knew it was going to be a really difficult start, and we knew it was going to be a really difficult finish.'"

Injury concerns for Newcastle United

“Unfortunately, we have picked up one or two (injuries),” said head coach Bruce. “I’ll not know the extent until training at 2pm. It’s fair to say Almiron and Saint-Maximin, in particular, are struggling.

"Andy Carroll picked up a groin strain. Jamaal’s got a sore ankle. Isaac and Sean Longstaff are possibly our fittest payers, and, unfortunately, they’ve picked up soft tissue injuries.

“Everybody’s in the same boat (following the restart), and we understand we’ll pick up a lot of injuries along the way.”

Steve Bruce targeting that top 10 finish

"I think there's a certain resilience in the squad to being written off and they enjoy the challenge of proving people wrong. That's pretty apparent when you work with the players.

"It's important we don't take our foot off the gas and we try to achieve that top ten finish."
