Fabricio Coloccini has vowed to be a key dressing room figure after conceding that he's unlikely to play again this season.
Newcastle United's captain has been sidelined since February with a calf problem.
And manager Benitez doesn't expect to see him back for the relegation-threatened club before the end of the season.
Coloccini, however will be in the dressing room before this afternoon's must-win home game against Crystal Palace (3pm kick-off).
In today's programme, the 34-year-old said: "I am unsure as to whether I will be able to play again this season, and that is very frustrating.
"All I want to do is be out on the pitch trying to help the team stay in this league.
"If I cannot do that, then I make sure I am in the dressing room offering advice and support to the team because we are in this together as a squad."
