The Tykes have been without a manager following the departure of Daniel Stendel last month and Redfearn, who walked out on United’s youth side recently, is now seen as the third favourite for the post.

Redfearn played almost 300 games for Barnsley between 1991-1998.

SkyBet odds: Gerhard Struber 13/8, Adam Murray 4/1, Neil Redfearn 5/1, Jan Siewert 7/1, Neil Warnock 8/1.
