Parker is close to leaving Craven Cottage following Fulham’s relegation from the Premier League, according to Sky Sports.

And Parker is expected to repace former Newcastle midfielder and Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate at Bournemouth, beaten in the play-offs by Brentford. Woodgate will leave the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday when his contract expires.

Woodgate wrote on Instagram: “It was a real experience for me personally, and I can’t thank the staff, who were absolutely incredible, and the people of the town, enough for the support they gave me. I’d also like to thank the players for all their hard work. They were a great group to work with, and it was gutting how the season ended for us all.”

Fulham fought hard to stay in the Premier League last season – the club looked set to overtake Newcastle at one point – before falling away in the final two months of the campaign.
