Rafa Benitez has been keeping in close contact with his backroom team at Newcastle United as he recovers from surgery.
Benitez could miss Sunday's game against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
United's manager is recovering from a procedure to clean out an infection related to a previous hernia operation.
Francisco de Miguel Moreno, Benitez's fitness coach, spoke to the media at today's pre-match press conference.
“Rafa is OK," said Moreno. "He's recovering properly. He'll be fine in a few days.
"It’s not been difficult, because we have been doing the stuff we normally do here. We're going on a daily basis.
"It’s different when he is here, because he is the man for us. But our work for training and preparing for games is exactly the same."
Benitez attempted to drive to Tyneside yesterday from his family home on Merseyside.
However, the 57-year-old turned back after feeling discomfort.
“He tried yesterday but he suddenly realised he couldn’t get here," said Moreno.
"He wants to be here because you know his passions, for his football and profession. First of all it’s about his health. We have said to stay at home and rest yourself.
“He has been on the phone in the same way he normally does, I don’t see a difference.
"He is at home, and we're in touch and preparing like we do."
