'He’s in the building': Steve Bruce gives Valentino Lazaro update

The Inter Milan winger is on Tyneside to complete a loan move to Newcastle United.

Asked about Lazaro, head coach Steve Bruce said: “He’s here. He’s in the building, which is a good sign. It’s fair to say we’ve managed to hold off a couple of clubs. Once he became available, someone of his pedigree was always going to have a few options.

“There was big talk of Leipzig. We’re delighted he’s here. He’ll give us an extra something going forward. He’s an out and out wide player who can give us another something else down the right.”

Lazaro will be included in United’s squad for tomorrow’s fourth-round FA Cup tie against Oxford United if he completes his move on time, according to Bruce.
