Incoming Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak reveals why he wants Premier League move

Alexander Isak has revealed his desire to play Premier League football as a move to Newcastle United edges closer.

Newcastle have agreed a £58million deal for the Real Sociedad striker that will see him swap Spain for England in a record deal for both clubs.

Isak is highly-rated in the game, regarded as one of Europe’s hottest prospects and has been on the radar of numerous Premier League clubs in the past.

Rumours of a move to England first started after Isak starred for Sweden at Euro 2020 and although it has taken over a year for a move to come to fruition, the striker would relish the challenge of a move to the Premier League.

Isak told the Independent: “I am in a good place at the moment, I am very happy, but one day it would be nice to play in England.”

“They have six or seven of the biggest clubs in the world, it’s a very high level, and of course, one day it could be an alternative.

“Every player wants to be the best version of themselves and reach the highest possible level. People will always count the goals a striker scores, and I always want to score, but I want to be a modern striker.

Isak is set to become Newcastle’s fourth signing of the summer following the additions of Sven Botman, Nick Pope and Matt Targett.
