Jack Colback’s on course to return for Newcastle United next month – and Steven Taylor isn’t far behind him.

Colback suffered a knee injury against former club Sunderland last month.

And the midfielder was ruled out for “up to six weeks” at the time.

United head coach Steve McClaren said: “Jack’s progressing really well, and we’re delighted with him so far.”

Meanwhile, defender Taylor has been sidelined since September with a hamstring problem.

“Steven will be fighting to play any part in December,” said McClaren. “We’re probably looking more at the start of next year with him.”
