Jamaal Lascelles suffers 'strange' injury in Newcastle United defeat

The defender was replaced at the break in this afternoon’s 2-0 home defeat to Chelsea.

Lascelles had hurt his knee late in the first half, and United's captain then felt his thigh when he went to test it before the restart.

“It’s a strange one,” said United head coach Steve Bruce.

“He hurt his knee before half time When he ran out to test his knee. He felt his thigh."
