John Carver says Newcastle United fans have every right to protest – but he’s asked them to put their differences to one side for 90 minutes.

The club’s Premier League status is on the line against West Ham United at St James’s Park on Sunday, and there has been a call for supporters to stay behind after the game to protest against owner Mike Ashley.

Head coach Carver said: “That’s fine, but for 90 minutes, I’d ask them to get behind the team. We need the supporters this weekend.”
