JOHN Carver’s set to stay in charge at Newcastle United until the end of the season.
Carver has been at the helm since Alan Pardew left for Crystal Palace late last year.
And the club is set to confirm that the 50-year-old will remain as caretaker head coach until the end of the campaign.
United managing director Lee Charnley, assisted by chief scout Graham Carr, has been examining the club’s options over the past few weeks.
A number of prospective candidates, among them Ajax’s Frank de Boer and St Etienne’s Christophe Galtier, are not available until the summer.
