Kenedy's on Tyneside to complete a loan move to Newcastle United.
The winger – who spent the second half of last season at St James's Park – was one of Rafa Benitez's top summer targets.
And Kenedy travelled to Newcastle by train last night after lengthy talks between the two clubs came to a successful conclusion.
United will pay a loan fee for Kenedy. Fans had hoped that there would be an option to turn the loan into a permanent move at the end of the coming season, and it had been claimed that there was such an option in the proposed deal.
However, the Gazette understands that there is no option to buy. Newcastle are yet to comment..
Kenedy's move could be finalised later today.
The 22-year-old – who made 13 appearances and scored two goals for the club last seas – is set to go to Ireland tomorrow with Rafa Benitez's squad for a training camp ahead of their first pre-season friendly.
Kenedy, an influential figure on the field after arriving in January's transfer window, will become the club's third summer signing following the earlier arivals of Martin Dubravka and Ki Sung-yueng.
Newcastle open their warm-up campaign with a game against Dublin side St Patrick's Athletic on July 17.
