'Lacks leaders', 'no threat' and 'no quality'  – Miles Starforth's Newcastle United player ratings from Brentford Carabao Cup loss

Newcastle United’s lack of urgency, leadership and quality was called into question by our writer Miles Starforth as he ranked each one of the Magpies’ 14 players who suffered the embarrassment of Carabao Cup defeat at Brentford.

From minute one to 90 the Magpies were second best to their second string, second tier opponents and were deservedly dumped out of the competition at the last eight stage.
