Clubs at either end of the Premier League are set to flex their financial muscles ahead of the January transfer window slamming shut tomorrow night.

League leaders Leicester City are reported to have had a £11.5m offer accepted for Chelsea's France striker Loic Remy, who was a target for Newcastle United. (BeIN Sports, via Independent)

Newcastle are said to have switched their sights instead to Swansea's former France striker Bafetimbi Gomis, making a £7m offer two years after having a bid for the 30-year-old rejected.(Sunday Telegraph)

Tottenham are keen to make one final bid for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, 22, before the transfer window closes on Monday.(Sunday Mirror)
