Manchester United, Sunderland, Newcastle, Liverpool and Spurs made today’s headlines on another busy day of transfer talk.

Newcastle and Sunderland are both being linked with players – in particular the Black Cats, who look like bolstering their midfield ranks.

For the Magpies, Charlie Austin’s future continues to be a topic of discussion – as does Fabricio Coloccini’s.

But it’s not just the North East duo, with the Premier League big boys also linked with moves in today’s papers.

Manchester United will not give up on their pursuit of Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale, 26, despite the Spanish side wanting a world-record fee of £86m for the player. (Sunday Express)

United goalkeeper David De Gea’s move to Real could be on after Old Trafford manager Louis van Gaal said he wants to “unlock” negotiations following the 24-year-old’s poor display against Paris St-Germain. (AS.com)
