NEWCASTLE United players past and present took to Twitter after beating Aston Villa 1-0 to celebrate.
Ryan Taylor – who came on as a second-half substitute – and midfielder Moussa Sissoko were quickly on social media after the final whistle.
Taylor was continuing his return from a knee injury and hailed fellow comeback star Jonas Gutierrez, who was on the bench with him.
Taylor tweeted: “3 pts was huge today. Thankyou so much for a great reception. No better feeling than running on at St James’ Great to see @elgalgojonas to”
Meanwhile, midfielder Sissoko tweeted: “We fought well because we had this win to our fans ans the club.”
Former Newcastle striker Peter Lovenkrands had been watching Sunderland’s game against Manchester United at Old Trafford but had one eye on the game at St James’s Park.
He tweeted: “On the way home from Old Trafford was a good game! Just seen @NUFC won as well! #ToonArmy
“Can’t wait for Wednesday! coming back to St James Park I am commenting @NUFC vs @ManUtd for @6erenSBS will be a great game!”
