Moussa Sissoko has AGAIN talked of his Champions League ambitions – 24 hours after Newcastle United’s loss at the Etihad Stadium.
Steve McClaren’s side were beaten 6-1 by Manchester City yesterday.
And Sissoko came under fire from fans after the match for his second-half performance.
The midfielder is in France ahead of international friendlies against Armenia and Denmark.
And speaking to Canal+, the 26-year-old said: “I hope to play in the Champions League one day.
“Newcastle did everything to keep me.”
The City defeat left United propping up the Premier League table.
Sissoko added: “We are not where we should be, but we need to prove that on the pitch.”
Asked about Sissoko’s form last week, Newcastle head coach McClaren said: “He’s obviously very ambitious, and that’s great.
“But, like everybody who is ambitious, I’m sorry but you half to perform every week to a certain standard and he knows that.”
