Newcastle United have bid more than £10million for Florian Thauvin, according to a report in France.
Le 10 Sport claim Olympique Marseille are considering a “concrete offer” of 15million Euros for the 22-year-old winger.
Thauvin is understood to be one of the club’s main summer targets.
As revealed by the Gazette, managing director Lee Charnley was today due to hold a transfer meeting with his fellow board members, including new head coach Steve McClaren and chief scout Graham Carr.
Carr is a long-time admirer of Thauvin, who joined OM from Lille two years ago.
United are yet to sign a player this summer, though McClaren is hopeful of one or more new players arriving in the next 10 days.
