NEWCASTLE United boss Alan Pardew has revealed FIVE players look set to be fit to face Sunderland in the Tyne-Wear derby on Sunday.
Pardew has had fitness doubts overdefender Steven Taylor, striker Papiss Demba Cisse, Cheik Tiote and winger Sammy Ameobi after they missed the Capital One Cup defeat at Spurs in midweek.
On top of that, goalkeeper Jak Alnwick had a shoulder injury, but Pardew confirmed that the young shot-stopper will be fit for the derby.
Taylor and Cisse returned to training today, while midfield duo Tiote and Ameobi are expected to be back tomorrow.
“Jak Alnwick is fine,” said Pardew.
“Cisse was in today, Tiote and Ameobi will train tomorrow and Steven Taylor trained today.”
