Andros Townsend, it's fair to say, was surprised to see Sam Allardyce quit his job at Crystal Palace yesterday.
The former Newcastle United winger tweeted the word "wow" after news broke of Allardyce's departure from Selhurst Park.
Rafa Benitez had wanted to re-sign Townsend in January's transfer window.
And Newcastle fans, hoping to see him back at St James's Park this summer, quickly reacted to the tweet.
One told him to "get your train booked", while another offer him a lift (and takeaway en route) to Tyneside.
Kris Leighton said: "Fancy a lift to Newcastle andros? I'll even buy you a burger king on the way."
Another supporter told him to "come home", while other fans posted photographs of him from his time at United.
United manager Benitez is interested in bringing Townsend back to St James's Park this summer.
