Several clubs are reported to be eyeing a swoop for Newcastle United’s Yoan Gouffran before the transfer window slams shut.
The 29-year-old Frenchman is the subject of interest from Championship neighbours Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest and Derby according to reports today.
Meanwhile, Premier League rivals West Ham United have also been linked with a move before Tuesday’s deadline.
Gouffran, signed from Bordeaux two and a half years ago, made his first start of the season in the 4-1 Capital One Cup win over Northampton Town.
But he is yet to start in the Premier League under new head coach Steve McClaren, who is understood to be willing to let him leave.
The forward helped the club stay in the Premier League and went on to be a regular under Alan Pardew but struggled for form last season.
Gouffran is among several players who Newcastle are willing to allow to leave this summer, with Haris Vuckic and Gael Bigirimana also available.
Gouffran’s former club Bordeaux, one of several French clubs interested, West Brom and Hull City have also been linked with a move in reports today.
