Ivan Toney’s has join Shrewsbury Town on loan – and Newcastle United also hope to farm out Haris Vuckic.
Toney has joined the League One club until January. The striker, signed from Northampton Town a year ago, had two loan spells in the division with Barnsley last season.
Shrewsbury manager Micky Mellon said: “He’s got great technical ability, he’s a good dribbler, he’s got tricks and turns and he knows his way to goal.
Meanwhile, Vuckic spent last season on loan at Wigan Athletic, then in League One.
The forward said last month that he hoped to play his way into manager Rafa Benitez’s plans at Newcastle.
“At the moment, I’m not in his plans,” admitted Vuckic, who spent pre-season with the Under-23 squad.
Vuckic, however, is more likely to be loaned out, though few clubs in the Football League will be able afford his wage.
