CURTIS Good has undergone a hip operation in the United States – after breaking down on his comeback from injury.
Newcastle United head coach John Carver has revealed that Good has had surgery in Colorado, where Shola Ameobi once had a career-saving hip operation.
Good had only just returned from the hip problem he suffered in March last year while on international duty with Australia.
But he suffered a setback in an Under-21 game against Arsenal earlier this month.
“Curtis has operation on his hip in Colarado,” said injury-hit Carver, who will has just FOUR senior specialist defenders available to him.
Luckless Good, 21, has played one first-team game for Newcastle since joining from Melbourne Heart in 2012.
Ex-United striker Ameobi had surgery on a troublesome hip problem in Colorado in 2006.
Ameobi later admitted the procedure, undertaken by world-renowned specialist Dr Marc Philippon, saved his career.
