The Swiss international is said to be one of a number of names on the European giants’ shortlist as they look for defensive reinforcements.

Here are some of the other latest rumours from across the top flight:

Newcastle United striker Joelinton has opened up on how much he is enjoying playing alongside Toon summer signing Callum Wilson. Leeds United have been tipped to sign Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo by former England striker Kevin Phillips amid reported interest from Newcastle United. The pundit said: “I think Newcastle, Leeds and a few other clubs will be looking at Rojo. I am sure there would be a lot of clubs on tracking him but Leeds is an appealing club at the moment. I would imagine Bielsa would look at that because that is an area they could do with strengthening in. He also has the experience of playing in big games at a big club.” (Football Insider)
