Newcastle United star Daryl Janmaat has ben forced to pull out of the Holland squad with a knee injury.
The right-back had forced his way back into the Netherlands reckoning after a fine start to the season.
But Janmaat has now withdrawn from the squad, though the extent of his injury hasn’t been revealed yet.
It will be a huge concern for Newcastle boss Steve McClaren, however. Janmaat is Newcastle’s only recognised first-team right-back, though youngster Kevin Mbabu has emerged in recent weeks.
However, Mbabu was forced off against Manchester City on Saturday with a hamstring strain, and is set for a spell on the sidelines.
Holland take on Kazakhstan on Saturday, followed by a game against Czech Republic on Tuesday.
Vurnon Anita, Tim Krul and Georginio Wijnaldum remain with the squad.
