Newcastle’s flying Dutchman Tim Krul ‘fully focused’ on Wear-Tyne derby

READY ... Tim Krul.
READY ... Tim Krul.

TIM Krul can’t wait to return to the field with Newcastle United – after spending 180 minutes on the bench with Holland.

The goalkeeper today flew back to Tyneside after a week with his international colleagues.

Krul was an unused substitute for Holland’s games against Spain and Turkey.

Defender Daryl Janmaat, his United colleague, played 90 minutes of Tuesday night’s 2-0 friendly win over Spain in Amsterdam.

Krul posted a photograph on Twitter this afternoon as he waited to board a flight to Newcastle from Schiphol Airport.

The 26-year-old said: “On my way back to Newcastle after a good week with the national team. Focus is now fully on Sunday. #DerbyDay.”

Krul missed the Tyne-Wear derby in December, won 1-0 by Sunderland, through injury.
