Newcastle United's Ivan Toney's keen to extend his loan at Barnsley.
The striker joined the League One club on a 28-day loan this week.
And Toney, signed from Northampton Town in the summer, made his debut in Tuesday night's 2-1 Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over York City.
The 19-year-old is now preparing to make his league bow against Port Vale at Oakwell on Saturday.
“Hopefully, I can add goals to the side," said Toney.
"I didn’t manage to get on the score sheet on Tuesday, but hopefully I will on Saturday if I’m playing.
“I thought coming here was the best option for me. I’m happy to be here and hopefully become a big signing for the club, and if it all goes well, I’ll be looking to extend that.
“I want to add positivity to the side, not that it isn’t here already, and spice things up a bit.
"I’d like to try and turn things around while I’m here, it’s a great club and it should be doing better."
