PAPISS Demba Cisse is stepping up his workload ahead of the end of his seven-game suspension.
The Newcastle United striker has just one more match to serve of his ban for spitting at Manchester United’s Jonny Evans.
And Cisse will be able to play in next Saturday’s Premier League home game against West Bromwich Albion – if he proves his fitness.
The 29-year-old had a procedure on his troublesome knee last month, and is yet to return to full training.
United head coach John Carver said: “He’s working with the medical team at the moment – he’s not 100 per cent – and he’s not joined in with us yet with any football.
“We’ll just have to wait and see.”
