Newcastle United goalkeeper Rob Elliot has been passed fit to face Arsenal.

In-form Elliot missed Monday's 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns with a stomach bug.

But the 29-year-old will be back in Steve McClaren's starting XI at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon (3pm kick-off).

And Cheick Tiote replaces the injured Vurnon Anita (hamstring) in midfield.

Relegation-threatened Newcastle are two points adrift of safety in the Premier League, while Arsenal lead the table.
