ROLANDO Aarons has been sent to a specialist after suffering a setback in his return from injury.
The Newcastle United winger had been close to a comeback after five months on the sidelines with hamstring and thigh problems.
But Aarons suffered a “reaction” after a training session last week and had a scan.
The results showed no fresh damage to his hamstring, but the 19-year-old he been booked to see a specialist for further examination.
Head coach John Carver said: “He had a reaction to a session.
“We weren’t quite sure, so we scanned him, and have referred him to a specialist for a third opinion.
“We’ll see what happens. We’ll find out if there’s anything else.”
It is feared that Aarons won’t play again for Newcastle this season.
