Luckless Steven Taylor is facing another spell on the sidelines.

The Newcaslte United defender is out of tonight’s game at Upton Park (8pm kick-off), and Steve McClaren has named Jamaal Lascelles on the bench in his absence.

Taylor, 29, has joined defensive colleague Paul Dummett (hamstring) in the treatment room, leaving head coach Steve McClaren short of cover at the back.

Mike Williamson has also been troubled by an elbow problem during the international break.

McClaren, meanwhile, has recalled striker Papiss Demba Cisse to the starting XI against West Ham United in place of the suspended Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Former Newcastle striker Andy Carroll is on West Ham’s bench.
