Newcastle United's Dwight Gayle could be sold this summer, according to a report.
The striker was left out of Rafa Benitez's squad for Saturday's game against West Ham United.
Joselu and Aleksandar Mitrovic, Benitez's other strikers, were both on target in a 3-0 win for Newcastle.
Gayle, last season's top scorer with 23 goals, also missed last week's Carabao Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest through illness.
And the Daily Mail today report that Benitez is prepared to sell Gayle to "fund squad strengthening".
Benitez addressed Gayle's form and fitness ahead of the West Ham match.
Speaking to the Gazette, Newcastle's manager said: "He's had his ups and downs.
"He has to get back to the level we were expecting and the level he was last season."
No 9 Gayle, signed from Crystal Palace last summer, was troubled by a hamstring problem earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Benitez gave a transfer update after the win over West Ham.
“They know exactly what we are talking about in terms of targets, players going out, because we have too many," he said.
"Hopefully, we can do this. Nothing changed after the first two games, or even the first three games. Nothing has changed now.
"We have a clear idea of what we want to do, and we'll try to do it.
"I don’t know if we can do everything, but we will try to.”
