Newcastle, Sunderland, Manchester City, Liverpool and Man United made today’s transfer headlines

NEWCASTLE United’s French contingent were in the news today – while there were also transfer rumours involving Sunderland, Manchester City, Liverpool and Man United.

With the transfer window now open, the speculation has increased about potential moves.

And Newcastle were at the forefront today, with reports of a sensational return for Yohan Cabaye.

The Sunday people claimed midfielder Cabaye, 28, is line for a return to Newcastle, with Paris St-Germain keen on a player-plus-cash deal for Magpies midfielder Moussa Sissoko, 25.

Elsewhere, Hatem Ben Arfa has been linked with a move to Nice – as revealed by the Gazette – after Newcastle terminated his contract.

On the Sunderland front, the Sun on Sunday reported that Steven Fletcher’s future at the club is in doubt - and Hull boss Steve Bruce is waiting to swoop for the 27-year-old striker.
