Charlie Austin says he has a “big season ahead” – at Queens Park Rangers.
The striker will stay at Loftus Road as no club was willing to meet QPR’s £15million valuation.
And Austin took to Twitter ahead of today’s 6pm transfer deadline.
The 26-year-old – who had been a target for Newcastle United – will be a free agent next summer when his QPR contract expires.
Austin tweeted: “#9 #QPR big season ahead.”
Newcastle could renew their interest in Austin in January, when he will be free to talk to other clubs about a summer move.
