Newcastle transfer rumours: Magpies and Wolves eye up French top flight striker, Edouard price slashed

It’s been another busy day of transfer speculation in the Premier League, and Newcastle United are at the centre of their fair share of it once again.

The Magpies are never too far away from the gossip columns, and there have been a number of stories involving them that have broken throughout the day.

First up, La Buteur in Algeria reports that the Toon Army are keeping an eye on 29-year-old Montpellier striker Andy Delort.

The forward has hit eight goals and six assists in 17 games this season, but Newcastle will have to fight off interest for Wolves if they are to land him.

In other striker-related news, Celtic are said to have slashed their asking price for star man Odsonne Edouard.

The Hoops had wanted £40 million for the Frenchman, but would now settle for closer to £25 million, with the Magpies linked in the past. Football Insider have broken that story.

Another player who has been linked with a move to Tyneside in recent weeks is Fikayo Tomori.

The Chelsea centre-back looks destined to leave Stamford Bridge on loan this month, but transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has suggested that AC Milan have made contact over a potential deal.

Frank Lampard has made it clear that he expects the defender to exit before the end of the window after having slipped way down the pecking order in the capital.

Whether Steve Bruce would look to prioritise strengthening the heart of defence given the amount of options he already has in that area remains to be seen...

Sheffield United have launched a double loan enquiry for Manchester United duo Jesse Lingard and Brandon William. Southampton are said to be leading the race for Williams in particular, however. (Eurosport)

The Blades are also keen on Wigan Athletic’s Scotland Under-19 striker Kyle Joseph. Tottenham Hotspur, Celtic, and Rangers are also interested. (David Anderson – The Mirror)

Brighton winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh has openly stated that he is unhappy with his limited role under Graham Potter. In a recent interview, he said: "I want to play more, that’s clear. I am at the peak of my career and should not be lurking for a place.” (Voetbal International)

Leeds United are interested in signing RC Lens centre-back Loic Bade. Liverpool and AC Milan are also said to be keen on the player, but any transfer could be a more plausible possibility in the summer. (Foot Mercato)

Dutch outfit ADO Den Haag are keen on signing out-of-favour Leeds United winger Jay-Roy Grot. The continental club cannot sign the 22-year-old on loan this month, however, and will have to wait until his contract expires at the end of the season or an agreement is reached to terminate his deal at Elland Road to secure his services on a permanent basis. Everton will be willing to offload Burnley target on a permanent basis this month. The Clarets have emerged as potential suitors this month, and a fee of around £7 million could be enough to convince the Toffees to sell. (Football Insider)
