Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has dropped a hint about the side’s transfer activity ahead of the January window.

The side have been linked with Hull City star Jarrod Bowen amongst others. However, as per the Daily Mail, Bruce was cautious on the prospect of signings, saying that players would only come in if he was confident they could improve the team.

He said: “There's a few plates spinning but that's about it at the minute. I keep saying if there's someone out there who'll make us better, but I won't act unless it's going to improve the team.

“[With a full squad] we have to make way for somebody, so I will have to let two or three go as well if we have to make changes. We have got a few injuries at the moment so hopefully we can get them back.”

The window opens in a matter of days, with a number of teams set to be busy.
