Newcastle United went into the international break three points clear at the top of the Championship.

Goals from Christian Atsu and Yoan Gouffran gave the club a 2-1 win over Cardiff City on Saturday.

Gouffran, once again, refused to speak after the match.

But Atsu, on a season-long loan from Chelsea, was happy to share his thoughts on the game, and his first home goal, with fans.

Rafa Benitez also gave his verdict on what was an eighth successive victory for the team.

United's manager also revealed his plans for the international break.

Finally, Newcastle defender Jamie Sterry, on loan at League One club Coventry City, has reacted to his FA Cup strike.

Sterry scored a 72nd-minute equaliser for his team in their first-round tie away to Morecambe.

The 20-year-old said on Twitter: "Delighted to have scored my first senior goal. We are working hard to keep improving. Today was a tough game but we go on."
