Rafa Benitez is targeting promotion for Newcastle United AND cup trophy success.
Benitez yesterday signed a revised three-year deal at the relegated club and he has immediately set his sights on winning promotion from the Championship next season.
Asked about his aim, the former Real Madrid and Liverpool manager said: "It is a challenge, yes.
"I have won trophies. Now it is time for a new project, a new challenge.
"I can see the possibilities and the size of the club and the potential.
"Everything is massive and I want to be a part of it.
"I am here because I am convinced we can go up next season, stay there for a long time and even win trophies."
And he has revealed he is under no pressure to sell the club's big names.
"What I have is the assurance that if I don't want to sell any players I don't have to," said Benitez.
"We can keep all the players who we want."
Meanwhile, the club's managing director Lee Charnley has been speaking about Benitez.
