Steve McClaren has been speaking ahead of Newcastle United’s home game against Norwich City on Sunday.
The club’s head coach – who has labelled the January transfer window as ‘huge’ – will be without goalkeeper Tim Krul, who has been ruled out for the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate knee ligament playing for Holland.
With Newcastle bottom of the Premier League table after eight games, McClaren is under intense pressure at St James’s Park.
But the 54-year-old does not fear the sack despite being second-favourite in the Premier League’s sack race.
McClaren is also finding out who is with him – and who is not – at United ahead of the January window.
Meanwhile, Joey Barton has admitted he was a ‘liability’ under Sam Allardyce at St James’s Park.
