Newcastle United fans had six reasons to be cheerful this morning ahead of Sunday’s Wear-Tyne derby.
Georginio Wijnaldum netted four times in yesterday’s 6-2 win over Norwich City.
And the result, the club’s first Premier League win of the season, lifted the club off the foot of the table.
Summer signing Wijnaldum has been talking about his ‘beautuiful game’.
United head coach Steve McClaren, however, wants even more from Wijnaldum.
Moussa Sissoko also caught the eye with a powerful performance which saw him create goal after goal.
Meanwhile, Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce has been talking about the derby.
Newcastle, Allardyce’s former club, have lost their five derbies.
And Allardyce said: “The pressure’s on me, more than it’s on Steve. We’ve won the last five, so I don’t want to be the one who doesn’t win it.”
