Newcastle United have recalled Ivan Toney from his loan spell at Barnsley.
The 19-year-old returns to St. James's Park after scoring twice in eight appearances for the Tykes.
Barnsley head coach Lee Johnson told his club's official website: "He's done really well and helped himself to a couple of goals.
"I'd like to place on record our thanks to both Newcastle United and Ivan."
Meanwhile, McClaren has been speaking about the club's plans for the January transfer window.

And finally, Florian Thauvin has won the support of head coach McClaren.
The midfielder joined the club from Olympique Marseille in August, in a deal which also saw Remy Cabella head to the Stade Velodrome on a season-long loan.
But aside from a stunning Capital One Cup performance against Northampton Town, Thauvin has failed to live up to the pre-season hype and has spent most of the season on the bench.
