Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote is a transfer target of Turkish giants Galatasaray, according to reports today.

The January transfer window is just around the corner and Tiote could be surplus to requirements at St James's Park as head coach Steve McClaren looks to tinker with his revived squad.

Newcastle are one of the form sides in the Premier League in recent weeks following back-to-back victories over Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, easing their relegation concerns.
