Newcastle United are reportedly plotting a move for Everton defender Mason Holgate.

That said, Football Insider report that Newcastle United are keen on the 23-year-old, who can play either as a right-back or as a centre-back.

The defender would reportedly cost around £14m to prise away from Goodison Park, though the report does say that Everton are in two minds over whether to sell him.

Newcastle would be keen to make the move happen in the January transfer window – Holgate is contracted to Everton until 2022.

Another star linked with St James’ Park has been Jarrod Bowen, who has been in fine form for Hull City in the Championship this season.
