Today marks 65 years since the Magpies claimed their last piece of domestic silverware beating Manchester City under the twin towers at Wembley, their sixth FA Cup and a 10th trophy for the cabinet. As we all know they've added just one since - the Inter City Fairs Cup in 1969.

Jackie Milburn scored Newcastle's first goal after just 45 seconds, an FA Cup final record which stood until Chelsea's Roberto Di Matteo cracked home in 1997. Bobby Johnstone equalised before Bobby Mitchell and George Hannah ensured the trophy headed back to Tyneside with the Magpies.
