The Magpies lost FIVE players in their Leicester City defeat and Steve Bruce has revealed he is likely to be without 10 players in the FA Cup this weekend.

Bruce confirmed DeAndre Yedlin (suspected broken hand), Javier Manquillo, Jonjo Shelvey, Fabian Schar (all hamstring) and Jetro Willems (groin) added to the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin and Matt Ritchie on the sidelines.

But Lascelles admits he's not too far away.

“I managed to get back on the grass last week without any problems,” said Lascelles to the club's matchday programme.

“I’m starting to do a bit of ball work now and I’m trying to turn the intensity up a bit. I hope to be back training properly very soon, so it’s a case of trying to get my fitness right back up there to get myself ready.”
