Newcastle United transfer rumours: Magpies tracking reported Leicester and Fulham target

With the January transfer window less than a month away, Newcastle are one of several Premier League clubs reportedly interested in Charlton striker Macauley Bonne.

Charlton striker Macauley Bonne has been linked with Newcastle United.

The 24-year-old only joined the Addicks from Leyton Orient in the summer but has impressed for Lee Bowyer’s side in the Championship this season.

According to TalkSport, Leicester and Fulham are also showing interest, yet it’s been claimed Newcastle are leading the race.

Bonne has scored six league goals this campaign and is the Addicks’ joint top scorer along with Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher

The striker has started Charlton’s last 13 league games but could face more competition now that Lyle Taylor has recovered from a knee injury.

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce has four strikers on his books in the shape of Joelinton, Andy Carroll, Dwight Gayle and Yoshinori Muto.

Gayle and Muto have both been linked with moves away from Tyneside in January.
