Newcastle United transfer rumours: The SEVEN clubs 'linked' with attacker as Magpies weigh-up £9.6m problem

And the Magpies have been linked with summer transfer deals in the past weeks.

Here, though, we take a look at the latest transfer talk and gossip from Newcastle United and their Premier League rivals:

Former Newcastle United man Steve Howey has claimed clubs will be targeting Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin during the transfer window: “Well, really they have two players that they won’t be looking to move on but clubs will be looking at them, and that’s Saint-Maximin and Wilson.” (This is Futbol)

Everton and Leeds United are both in the frame to sign Real Madrid left-back Marcelo, with the 33-year-old Brazilian not in the plans of new Real manager Carlo Ancelotti. (Sunday Mirror)

Interestingly, the bookies are offering offs on Saint-Maximin departing St James’ Park this summer. Arsenal (8/1), Everton (9/1), Dortmund (10/1), Manchester United (10/1), PSG (11/1), Bayern Munich (12/1) and Liverpool (16/1) are all in the market. (SkyBet)

Burnley are attempting lure 35-year-old Inter Milan defender Ashley Young back to the Premier League with the offer of a one-year deal and option of a further 12 months. (Sunday Mirror)

Newcastle United remain confident about signing Joe Willock from Arsenal this transfer window after the loanee’s impressive stint at St James’ Park last season. (Various)

Arsenal have made contact with Manchester United about a move for 24-year-old Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek. (90min)
