The Gazette has learned the Magpies' flight to London from Newcastle Airport this afternoon has been delayed by three hours due to strong winds and heavy rain.

News is awaited on whether United's flight will be given the green light, or alternative arrangements will have to be hastily put together.

United take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow afternoon kick-off 4.30pm in the Premier League.

Storm Dennis has caused a number of cancellations to games across the UK, while the Met Office has issued amber and yellow weather warnings up and down the land.

British Airways and EasyJet are among the UK airlines who have been forced to cancel flights today due to the adverse conditions caused by the storm.

Several EFL games fell victim to the weather on Saturday.
