It promises to be a busy weekend of action in the competition, with sides from the top two tiers of English football entering the fray at the third round stage, but with so many matches it can be hard to keep track of when teams are playing, and how you can watch along from home.

Thankfully, we’ve gathered all the information you need to ensure that you won’t miss a minute of the Magpies’ cup exploits.

When is kick-off?

The game will be played at the Emirates Stadium, and will begin at 5.30pm on Saturday January 9th.

How can I watch it?

The match will be available to watch on BBC One.

Coverage starts at 5.20pm, and viewers can also follow the action on the BBC iPlayer.

What’s on offer for the winners?

As well as a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup, the winners of the clash will secure a prize of £61,500.

It’s not all bad news for the losers, however, with teams who get knocked out still pocketing £20,500.

What does the recent head-to-head record look like?

Newcastle’s recent record against the Gunners has left a lot to be desired, to say the least.

The Magpies have lost 14 of their last 15 encounters with the north London side, including a 4-0 defeat last February.

The one exception to that dire run was a 2-1 win in April 2018, with Matt Ritchie and Ayoze Perez finding the back of the net in a 2-1 victory.
