Steve McClaren says Moussa Sissoko was ‘shaken’ by the events in Paris last week – but will be fine to play against Leicester City tomorrow.
Sissoko was part of the France squad caught up in the terrorist attacks in the nation’s capital last Friday which claimed the lives of more than 130 people.
Sissoko was an unused substitute against Germany, then came on against England at Wembley on Tuesday.
The French national anthem will be played before Newcastle’s game against Leicester at St James’s Park and McClaren says Sissoko has been consulted about the planned tribute by the club.
McClaren said: “Everyone has come back fine. Obviously, Moussa’s a little different to the rest because of what he has had to go through.
“He (Sissoko) has been fine (in training). I think it shook him. We’ve consulted him about the things we will do.
“We will show solidarity. The game will honour those who died in Paris.”
